Our son has a housing voucher through developmental services with an accommodation for a live-in roommate, rent free. His apartment is in Broadlands/Ashburn near the metro stop. The unit is a 2 bedroom 2 bath.

The Roommate is there to provide support in the evenings and overnight for him to feel comfortable. The roommate can work and come and go as they choose but the expectation is they would be home at a reasonable hour in the evenings most nights.. Travel and vacations which require the roommate to be away is fine.

Limited help with keeping track of his belongings, and assistance with day-to-day activities as they may arise.

Jamie is independent and works part time and also drives. He does his own grocery shopping, wash, and cooks on a limited basis. He loves sports and participates in Special Olympics and is a member of the new Ashburn rec center.

The roommate would not be on the lease and either party can terminate the agreement if it does not work out, so there is no long-term commitment. The apartment is available now and the move-in date is flexible.

No smoking in the building and no alcohol in the apartment or overnight female guests. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is also a plus. We will also consider a roommate with a disability.

We are praying and trusting God to bring the perfect person.
